Embedded Glass Staircase In Black
This property spans three floors, with each floor being serviced by the same staircase in one continual well, creating a centrepiece whilst not being overpowering is crucial. The use of the dark staircase contrasting with the light walls and carpet creates a modern touch which is needed to compliment this newly renovated property.
The staircase features three main materials and colours, with the black staircase, handrails and newels, carpeted treads and glass balustrade all balancing one another out whilst still adding something to the staircase. The black timber draws the eye against the white background of the walls, the carpeted steps tie the staircases into the landing areas whilst softening the black features, whilst the glass allows the space to fell light any airy in a room that could otherwise feel dark.
The staircase was finished with a black stain throughout, matching the internal doors and other joinery in the property. This paint is also used on the last two “feature” steps, creating a contrasting transition between the staircase and the flooring below.
