At Edwards and Hampson we know how stressful home projects can be, whether that’s a small renovation project or you’re looking to build your own home, and our team can help make it a little easier.
We take a bespoke approach to every project and can be as involved as you need us to be, from supplying components to your dimensions and specifications and installed by your chosen tradesman, to taking on a full end to end project where we guide you through a design, take site dimension, then manufacture and install, giving you the final sign off.

At Edwards and Hampson we specialising in not just manufacturing staircases, but also renovations of existing staircases and balustrade, whether that be just adding in some fresh spindles or glazing, or the full lining of the staircase itself along with completely new balustrade.
How we do renovations different?
Most companies that do staircase renovations but standard products from suppliers and offer a limited range due to their lack of manufacturing capabilities, whereas we make our own components, manufacturing our own liners, posts, rails and even spindles. This means we can match profiles you have seen online or manufacture items to odd sizes, such as newels up to 200mm in section!

Bespoke Windows and Doors
As well as manufacturing staircases and stair parts, we also have 50 years expertise in manufacturing bespoke windows and doors, in period, traditional or modern styles. These windows and doors are all designed and manufactured by us using traditional techniques but with modern machinery.
We manufacture all of our doors and windows to meet modern thermal, security and durability standards so that they can compete with the standards of modern UPVC or aluminium windows and doors. We use a wide range of timbers, glazing and hardware, with all sourced from local suppliers who are themselves experts in their fields.
Whether it is for a new build property, or you have a home within a conservation area and are required to replace a failing window or door like for like, we can help with detailed 2D plans produced by our CAD engineers, we can help guide you through the process.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough! The job I had for them was incredibly difficult. My old staircase was walled-in, narrow, far too steep and did not conform to regulations. In fact, the old staircase was so bad that other companies refused to touch it! I have included a picture of the old stairs below but the picture doesn't show how bad they really were. However, Edwards & Hampson were only too glad to help. When he found out that I was not mobile, the owner, Peter, kindly picked me up from my other address and drove us to the property in question.
Straight away, I could see that he was an expert. He talked me through all my options and explained everything to me. After that, I was put in touch with Arran at the office. He was always patient with me, despite my endless questions. When it came to getting the actual work done, Mike and his crew were excellent. They worked tirelessly. Their overall job was very clean and efficient. I am so happy with the final product and I cannot argue with the price.
