Flush casement frames and the traditional style of window frame and casement, where when the casement is closed it sits flush with the framing on the window itself. This style of casement is usually accompanied by small glazing or Georgian Bars which break up the pane of glass into smaller pieces. This traditionally was done due to the difficulties in producing large pieces of glazing, but now is kept on as a part of the design.
Out flush casement windows can be fitted with a variety of hardware and locking options with numerous fittings available. These are usually hung using butt hinges with casement stays operating to keep the window open, with the hardware usually having an antique feel.
I cannot recommend this company highly enough! The job I had for them was incredibly difficult. My old staircase was walled-in, narrow, far too steep and did not conform to regulations. In fact, the old staircase was so bad that other companies refused to touch it! I have included a picture of the old stairs below but the picture doesn't show how bad they really were. However, Edwards & Hampson were only too glad to help. When he found out that I was not mobile, the owner, Peter, kindly picked me up from my other address and drove us to the property in question. Straight away, I could see that he was an expert. He talked me through all my options and explained everything to me. After that, I was put in touch with Arran at the office. He was always patient with me, despite my endless questions. When it came to getting the actual work done, Mike and his crew were excellent. They worked tirelessly. Their overall job was very clean and efficient. I am so happy with the final product and I cannot argue with the price. I now have a wonderful new staircase that has completely revolutionised my property. Thank you very much!
