Black Staircase – Carpet Runner – Embedded Glass
Design:
With the prominence of the window behind the staircase letting in as much light as possible, out staircase needed to follow suit, which is why the staircase has glass balustrade. This allows for the most light possible to enter the property. The client then opted to paint their staircase black, which matches other prominent features in the hallway, such as the front door, light fixtures, radiators as well as other internal ironmongery.
Materials:
This staircase is made entirely in paint grade pine, which allows not only for the balustrade and strings to be painted, but also the treads and risers due to the customer having a carpet runner. The client then opted for glass balustrade, which is 10mm toughened.
Layout:
This staircase half a half landing which means the staircase turns over 180 degrees on a flat landing. The landing on this staircase is at an important height as it needed to work in conjunction with the large floor to ceiling window behind the stairs so that the transom in the window lined up with the half landing.
