White Staircase, Embedded Glass
Prior to its renovation, this staircase had ornate carved spindles made for an old fashioned home. With the owners of the property performing a full renovation of their home, their staircase needing modernising in order to keep with that theme.
In order to do this they wanted to swap out their spindles for glass balustrade, remove their ornate handrail and replace it with a more minimal profile and then give the staircase a new coat of paint, giving their hallway a clean feel.
The clean white finish, twinned with the glass balustrade, has the effect of making the hallway lighter and also a lot bigger. This is important in homes with little light, with the front door and the upstairs windows being the only source of light.
The other benefit of a white staircase with glass balustrade is that it almost acts like a blank canvas not drawing too much attention the way ornate spindles would. This allows for other decoration mirrors, pictures etc to acts as the focal point of the room.
