Oak Central Staircase – Embedded Glass
This project, a new build property in Cumbria, has a modern design with Oak timbers throughout including the cills boards as well as the internal doors. The staircase required had to hold this design aesthetic whilst being a feature for the front of the property with it being in front of a large feature window.
As the other timber elements, the staircase required needed to be solid Oak which against a hallway with white walls and off white tiles, stands out wonderfully, whether viewed from the hallway of from the front of the property. The colour of the staircase was toned down however with grey carpets, adding to the overall texture of the staircase as well as the colours.
The staircase, as well as the overlooking landing balustrade, uses embedded glass balustrade so to bring as much light into the property as possible and work in tandem with the glass frontage at the front of the house.
The staircase, being a custom build, has a lot of individual inclusions including Oak joist liners, heeled stair stringers as well as an Oak rear backing to the feature step so the client can situate a plug socket
