Oak Staircase – Wrought Iron Balustrade

Client Brief

For this staircase the customer wanted a complete update on what was in currently. The wanted something that was contemporary and a complete juxtaposition from what was in currently. This meant different materials and styles, as well as something that was modern and new as opposed to something that paid homage to a bygone era.

Balustrade

The balustrade is the most striking element of the staircase, with a combination of straight and rectangular design wrought iron bars, they create an impact for whoever is lucky to walk in the room. These balusters are framed well and simply by square minimal newel posts, handrail and simple newel caps.

Timber

All components of the staircase, other than the spindles, are manufactured from American White Oak. This timber is reddish brown in colour and can be quite dark without being overbearing, allowing it to stand out perfectly against the white walls without drawing all of the light from the room
