Oak Staircase, Glass on Clamps

When you have a traditional house, with real oak beams showing through on the inside, the best and only thing you should have is a real oak staircase. But even though you have a traditional house doesn’t mean your staircase has to toe the line.

This staircase has glass balustrade, held in place by chrome supports which add to the modern staircase aesthetic. The room it self has been made to feel more spacious by the gallery area between the ground and first floor, giving clear visuals of the high ceilings and timber beams that support the house.

The client chose to finish the house with a slightly darker stain to color match to the oak beams, and to have a curtail step to make the front of the staircase more appealing.
