Carpeted Oak Staircase, Embedded Glass

The objective of this project is to creative a minimal staircase that fits un with the aesthetic of the house, therefore with chose a more relaxed style.

The handrail and the newels posts are the same height and are mitred together, doing away with elaborate cappings, making the newel post and the handrail appear as if one piece of timber. the balustrade is made of 10mm toughened glass which is seamlessly embedded into the handrail and base rail.

The style of this staircase appears in the finer details, for example there is walnut inlayed into the newel posts which is only apparent when you really concentrate when you step back these little details create something much bigger.
