Ash Staircase – Slender Spindles

Design:

This staircase takes a traditional element—spindles—and refines it into a more contemporary form. The slender spindles are delicately shaped, remaining square at the top and bottom while transitioning into a thinner, cylindrical profile through the centre, creating a subtle yet distinctive visual detail.

Materials:

Constructed from Ash, the light tone of the timber enhances the overall brightness of the space and responds beautifully to surrounding light, allowing the staircase to feel open and inviting.

Features:

A key feature of this design is the wall-side stringer, which has been enhanced with integrated LED lighting. These lights not only improve visibility but also introduce soft colour accents that reflect off the pale ash, adding depth and a modern touch to an otherwise classic style.
