Walnut Staircase – White Regency Spindles

Design:

A striking contrast-led staircase that blends traditional detailing with a contemporary colour palette. The combination of dark timber with crisp white spindles creates a bold visual statement, softened by the addition of a neutral carpet runner. Regency-style spindles and newels introduce subtle detailing, offering a modern interpretation of a classic design.

Layout:

The staircase is designed to improve flow within the space, beginning with a double feature step comprising a large curtail and a smaller bullnose. This allows the balustrade to start further up the flight, creating a more open and welcoming transition between adjoining rooms while enhancing movement through the hallway.

Materials:

Constructed primarily from Walnut, the staircase features a rich, dark tone that forms the foundation of the design. The spindles are finished in white to create contrast, while a grey carpet runner adds texture and balance. The combination of materials results in a refined yet practical finish, complementing both traditional and modern interiors.
