Ash Staircase – Quarter Landing – Turned Spindles & Newels
Design:
A classic Warwick-style staircase designed to enhance the traditional character of the home while introducing a refined, modern finish. The turned newels and spindles provide timeless detailing, complemented by recessed panel work to the stringer and gallery, adding depth and craftsmanship. The carpet runner softens the overall look, breaking up the timber and adding an extra layer of detail.
Layout:
Set within a large, open hallway, the staircase takes full advantage of the available space, allowing for a more substantial and impressive structure. The increased scale of the components, along with the open galleried landing, creates a strong visual presence while maintaining flow throughout the room. The layout ensures the staircase feels both grand and well-proportioned within its surroundings.
Materials:
Constructed from Ash, the staircase benefits from a light, natural tone that complements the interior. A larger 120mm cross-section has been used for the newel posts, giving the staircase a more robust and premium feel compared to standard sizes. The timber is finished with a clear coat to highlight the natural grain, while the carpet runner and wall panelling add texture and continuity with the rest of the home.
