Open Plan Staircase With Glass Risers
This building, featuring as the clients home office, benefits from having a large feature window allowing for great views of the garden, whilst also maximising the amount of natural light. with this being the properties biggest feature, we needed to make sure our staircase followed suit, further accentuating the natural light and not becoming a visual obstacle.
The open plan steps, utilised in this staircase, allow as much light as possible to enter into the front room and prevent the living spaces underneath the staircase from becoming dark. This is furthered by the utilisation of glass stub risers, a necessary safety feature, which keep visual impairment through the steps as low as possible.
To follow on form the open plan look, the balustrade is a toughened glass, embedded directly into the handrail and baserail. The embedded feature adds to the modern feel of the house and the glass gives a greater feeling of transparency to the stairs, and landing areas, again allowing for an open feel to the office. This also allows for views from the landing to be completely unobstructed, creating the optimal working environment and creating the perfect rest bite from a bright screen.
