Ash Staircase, Treble Feature Step

When a staircase is embedded between two walls it is difficult to make any feature of your hallway. In this circumstance the customer approached us with a design brief to make her staircase more interesting, which we achieved by influencing the element that are the most apparent as you walk in, the bottom steps.

Rather that simply have the staircase either finishing flush with the wall or have a small run of balustrade, we made three feature steps that appear to burst free from the hole in the wall, increasing flow between the bottom step and the other rooms on the ground floor.
